Time

Time matters, except when it doesn’t. Time speeds up, then almost stands still. In precious moments, time is transcended entirely. Movement is the way to know time, to understand your place within time, and also to forget all of that and be outside of time.
Doing a workout “for time” is delicious – how much effort can you pack into that amount of time on the clock? What have you got to give to the clock? Did you give more to the clock this time than last time? If yes, good – provided the quantity of movement is matched with quality.
Then, in other workouts, hurl to clock away. Slow down, way down, so far down that you are lost in each seemingly endless moment of movement. Hold a position, how long? – who knows? Just be that being outside of time, at least for a moment.
