Why should Women’s Health select you as an action hero?

I recently applied to be a Women's Health "Action Hero" (whatever that really is). I am not exactly sure why I applied, but here is what I wrote:

Well, “why not?”, other than the fact that I have virtually no social media presence, I don’t really use any products, and I am ambivalent (at best) about being an “influencer.” On the plus-side, however, I have been a serious Kung Fu practitioner for 13 years, studying a variety of soft and hard movement styles. I supplement that training with CrossFit and yoga, because strength and flexibility open so many doors. Three years ago, I also began dabbling in aerials (trapeze, silks, and hoop) just because it is amazingly challenging and fun. In all these endeavors, I train as a serious amateur, with no particular goal other than to continue to surprise myself with what I can accomplish through consistent effort.

My greatest desire is simply to train more, and so I bend my life toward that end. Perhaps because I am 48, I feel a sense of urgency that a younger version of myself would not have l felt pressing upon her, but ultimately that is to the good because no one has an infinite amount of training time.

Now, after countless hours of practice, rivers of sweat, sometimes screaming muscles, and bumps, bruises and callouses galore, I think that I have gained some knowledge and experiences that other women may find interesting (or not). In short, I can say with confidence, not conceit, I am and will be an action hero whether you select me or not. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application.

P.S. I never heard back from Women's Health.
